SS2 STREAMING EXCLUSIVELY ON APPLE MUSIC
"If there was ever a rapper to exemplify the new wave in hip-hop, it's Lil Yachty. The ATL rhymer with colorful beaded braids in his hair has exploded onto the rap scene in the last year." - XXL
Today, Atlanta singer/rapper Lil Yachty unleashes his new 15-song mixtape, Summer Songs 2 (Quality Control / Motown / Capitol). The mixtape is streaming exclusively on Apple Music right now. Listen HERE.
Summer Songs 2 represents a high watermark for Lil Yachty in a banner year thus far. Recently, XXL named him among its coveted 2016 "Freshmen Class", claiming "Atlanta's red-haired wonder Lil Yachty tackles the beat next and although he's the youngest in the bunch, he's anything but shy when it comes to dropping his 16."
A definite phenomenon, King of the Teens, Lil Yachty's March mixtape Lil Boat, spawned the viral hit "One Night," which amassed over 14 million Spotify streams and counting in a few months' time in addition to fan favorites such as "Minnesota" (feat. Quavo, Skippa da Flippa, Young Thug).
The New York Times described how, "His performance last week was as rowdy as his songs are trippy" and called him "the ascendant microstar of Atlanta's decentered hip-hop scene," while an in-depth profile Noisey said, "In just the last couple of months, the Atlanta artist has become one of rap's most buzzed-about new names, an avatar of the genre's contemporary, unmoored sound and visual aesthetic with a dizzyingly fast-growing listenership and a growing roster of clutch industry connections."
At 18-years- old, Lil Yachty has boldly steered music into unmapped territory, blazed an unmarked trail, and galvanized an impressive and fervent fan base. He kicks off his first official tour "The Boat Show Tour" in August.
