Daniel Kasen from Synthetic Plastics Company (which initially supplied the garment industry and then went into making poker chips, dice and other molded products) started the Power Records label after he discovered his presses could be adapted to make vinyl records shortly after World War II. During their heyday in the 70s, Power Records put out read-along records and comics from Batman, Superman, Fantastic Four, Planet of the Apes, Scooby Doo and LOTS more. These records later became a sample source for everyone from Cut Chemist to Eminem to the Geto Boys...but nobody delves into the hip hop/comic crossover world like Czarface, who is injecting their special take on the Power Records legacy. Czarface is to comic books, as Wu Tang is to Kung Fu films!
The first weapon drawn in a conflict is language, but the first weapon drawn for Czarface is the music. Wu-Tang Clan's Inspectah Deck & Esoteric carved a niche for Czarface with venomous vocals, but the musical production from DJ 7L is their super power. Past collaborators on Czarface releases have been fellow Wu Tang Clansman Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Cappadonna, also alongside MF DOOM, Vinnie Paz, Roc Marciano, Conway, The Beatnuts, Large Professor and many more!
