The GRAMMY® Award-nominated G.O.O.D. Music rapper, songwriter, producer, and muse to Kanye West delivers a 15-track opus worthy of the growing mythic buzz surrounding the project.
CyHi recently lit up the internet with the single “Dat Side” [feat. Kanye West]. Over airy bells and a skittering beat, his fiery, focused flow takes center stage before a biting hook punctuated by a highly rare West cameo. Within under a week, it clocked over 1M streams and counting. Speaking to the track’s raw power, Rolling Stone fittingly described it as “brusque,” while Billboard proclaimed it “punchy.” Further acclaim came from Uproxx, Complex, and many others. Moreover, he stopped by Sway in the Morning and Hot 97's Funk Flex to drop show-stopping freestyles this week. This comes hot on the heels of his explosive 2017 BET Hip Hop Award Cyphers freestyle. Watch it here.
Starting Monday November 13th National Public Radio will preview No Dope On Sundays in it’s entirety exclusively on NPR’s “First Listen.”
Executive produced by West, No Dope On Sundays earmarks a turning point for both the artist and hip-hop at large. After the heavenly and haunting “Amen (Intro),” he kickstarts a roller coaster of straight bars with the title track “No Dope On Sundays.” Island energy underscores the sly bounce of “Murda” [feat. Estelle], and “80’s Baby” unfurls with lyrical prose worthy of hip-hop’s heyday, telling a captivating story in the process. Everything closes out on the undeniable and uplifting “I’m Fine” [feat. Travi$ Scott]. CyHi introduced the album with the one-two punch of the single "Movin' Around" featuring ScHoolboy Q and the politically charged "Nu Africa" video, which garnered over 1M views. Additionally, the record boasts cameos from other heavy hitters such as Pusha T, 2 Chainz, BJ The Chicago Kid, and more.
The heavens exalt No Dope On Sundays
In addition to a string of acclaimed mixtapes such as 2014’s Black Hystori Project and 2015’s Black Hystori Project 2: N.A.A.C.P. both executive produced by Kanye West, CyHi has attracted the spotlight on some of modern hip-hop’s most influential releases. He was featured prominently on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010, G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer in 2012, and co-wrote nine of Yeezus’ ten epic tracks. He achieved a prestigious BMI Award for co-writing “FourFiveSeconds” by Rihanna, Kanye West, Paul McCartney and has remained one of hip-hop’s most coveted secret weapons throughout the past decade. However, the secret is out this month with No Dope On Sundays.
