Quotes from Interview

Power and his role Kanan

Karan comes back this season. I think people will start to feel...he becomes a little more human during it because of the vulnerability of the position that he's in. He doesn't change very much but at the points when you see him hurting that you kind of see him in a different light.

I [would] say 'who do you feel like is the bad guy?' And the room would laugh because they look at the Kanan character like he's the worst person in the actual show and Ghost is the worst person.

We could have called it 'Choices' you know, another title for the series could have been 'Choices' because of all the life choices the people are trying, we're all trying to get ahead, if you're not trying to get ahead I don't have any interest in communicating with you. (2:03min)

On Election 2016 & Police Violence [2:30min]

Diana: With the tensions in our country would you do to make some change?

50 Cent: I wouldn't even want it! [laughs] I say no give it to somebody else! Too much going on.

Some of us are good, some of us aren't but […] the problem is we got people doing things that they aren't supposed to be doing then we gotta just put better people in those positions. If you became a police officer because you were tired of seeing police officers do this then, you know, it would kinda create the closest thing that I could see to some sorta solution.

On Working on New Album "The Kanan Tape" - Single with Chris Brown [3:15min]

I started, I did 7 songs and I called it "The Kanan Tape" 'cause I wrote material matching the character's energy because the show was so impressionable on our audience that I was like, yo, I got an idea I'm wanna do this. Because it was only 7 songs I didn't have a hard time putting that together - 1, 2, 3.

The remix is me and Chris Brown and we did 'No Romeo No Juliet' so that one's out and on the charts right now.

Opinions on Kanye West's Music Video "Famous" [3:57min]

I thought that was sexy, everybody was naked. That was some cool shit.

It's about, for me, shock value. They got good coverage the last time Kim's booty was out there on that magazine cover.

50 Cent: I'm not coming to get naked in your music video.  [4:15min]

Diana: So you won't get naked for a music video?

50 Cent: Well, MY music video. [laughs] I'm not getting naked for someone elses music video.

"50 Cent Presents" Variety Show on A&E [5:30min]

Over the years I watched variety shows. I used to love "In Living Color" how many people turned into a star for that show? Jim Carrey, Martin Lawrence, [Diana: JLo was on it] 50 Cent: Even that, the booty was there first!

On Lessons Learned & Relationship with his first son [6:00min]

The biggest lesson is when you pray for success you don't pray for jealousy, you don't pray for envy or entitlement. I say that's the biggest lesson because it'll be why your circle changes if you have enough success.

[6:37min] It's different even in friendships that don't work like with my son's mother, my first son's mother, the entitlement that she had has been filtered into my son so we don't communicate with each other like that. You can imagine a kid being really excited about Jordans and so you says 'I want these new, these new Jordans is coming out. and she'll say 'Okay, I'll get them for you but it's your father's money because your father and you supposed to have them all.' So now by being a privileged child he can still feel deprived because all he can think of when he receives the shoes is he was supposed to have them all.
