Phantasm (of Cella Dwellas) Is Louder Than Ever (Video)

Brooklyn rapper Phantasm of the acclaimed Cella Dwellas, provides an audio/visual tour of his Brooklyn stomping grounds in his new video for “Louder Than Ever,” a timeless Boom bap collaboration with German producers, Soulbrotha (DJ Premier, Large Professor, Marley Marl).

Directed and edited by Jimmy Giambrone, the visuals provide a crisp and understated look at an afternoon spent on the block with Phantasm. The lyrically sharp emcee posts up near some graffiti—peep the tribute to the late Sean Price (we all miss you, P!)—and heads to Unique Style to pick up some slick new Polo gear.

The video is also another excuse to peep the track itself, which dropped as a single in mid August. Produced by the German duo Soulbrotha (B-Base and 12 Finger Dan), the two beatsmiths use only the SP-1200s to craft their head-nodding tracks. That of course includes “Louder Than Ever,” the soulful banger which also boasts the handy work of 12 Finger Dan on the scratch chorus.

Check out the visuals and immediately get transported to BKNY. The 7-inch vinyl single which also features the Brooklyn Remix as the B-Side, is now available available through Ill Adrenaline Records via Fat Beats. You can stream or purchase both versions through iTunes and all major digital retailers and streaming platforms, just be sure to bump it louder than ever!
