"Topics in rap vary from complex recallings of a discouraged life to the greatness of God. On his latest track, Seattle rapper Raz Simone gives his perspective on relationships, specifically polygamy, on “Don’t Settle.”

Hailed a respective practice by other artists like Akon, Raz creates a conversation with his partner and why group love is the best option for all parties involved. “The Force told me I was going to have multiple wives, and now I do,” Simone said to VIBE via email. “It sounds weird, but I don’t care.  This song touches on this new season of my life a bit.”

The rapper isn’t afraid of his critics. Simone’s 2015 single “Macklemore & Cheif Keef,” questioned the actions of the artists above with their raps on equality and violence. Speaking with Fader last year, the rapper says he just wants to represent the people who often go unnoticed in his city. “That’s why the people love and respect me so much, because I’ve given the city that hope and something to believe in, he said. “I also give back, and push to put the rest of the city and the hood on, something no other famous rapper from our city has done yet.” " –VIBE
